TEMPO.CO, Banyuwangi – Indonesian Ambassador for Sweden and Latvia, Raden Bagas Hapsoro, took a revisit to some of traveller destinations in Indonesia including Banyuwangi, East Java. Bagas believes that a series of transport destinations in Banyuwangi can be promoted to Sweden.
Mt Ijen, Alas Purwo National Park, and Meru Betiri National Park are among a destinations that held Bagas eye. Banyuwangi had also won a UNWTO Award in Madrid, Spain. The endowment was handed over by a World Tourism Organization for a city’s innovations in building a tourism potential.
Other regions such as Aceh, Manado, and Palu are also on a Ambbasador’s list of transport destinations to visit.
“Swedish tourists cite ecotourism,” Bagas explained when he visited Banyuwangi on Wednesay, Jan 26.
Bayuwangi tourism has helped boost traveller revisit to Indonesia adult to 161 percent, from 651,500 people in 2010 to 1,701,230 tourists in 2015. Foreign traveller revisit has increasing from around 13,200 in 2010 to 41,000 in 2015.
