Banyuwangi and Jember Airport to Extend Shutdown

“From this morning’s margin observation, Blimbingsari Airport Banyuwangi and Notohadinegoro Airport Jember are still influenced by volcanic ash. Therefore, it will be temporarily sealed for a meantime,” Air Transportation Director General Agus Santoso pronounced in Jakarta on Tuesday, Jul 3.

Agus has requested that all stakeholders, either airfield management and airfield airline, to conform a customary doing procession (SOP) on volcanic charcoal handling.
